hi pastor jason,
you are so right on about slowing down and enjoying the life that god has been so merciful to give us and it is so hard for all of us to do because we are all so busy and live in a fast paced microwave society but we have to make a decision to do it and we can do all things through christ who strenthens us .I am so thankful for my family and for you and our church i love you love aunt mike

I wish my Grankids ,growing up ,would slow down. Pastor Jason, you know you would go crazy without all the technology. We know how much you love it. LOL

Hey Pastor/Cousin Jason,
I remember a lot of “good old days” too. Fortunately, I never spit in anyone’s fish tank but I did show out in school (Baptist Christian School at Farifield Highlands) and ran screaming out of the room and locked myself in the bathroom Of course, mother (Aunt Mike everyone) knew about it before the day was over and we all know what happened when Saundra got home. Yeah, I got the peewaddling snot beat out of me then had to call the teacher and apologize. I also remember some great things, like VBS. What fond memories I have of that! We love “Andy” at our house, too and used to watch the show religiously (no pun intended). My schedule is so crazy and things are moving so quickly that I don’t ever feel like I’m off the hamster wheel. I have tried diligently to scale back some in the last couple of months and I still think my schedule is way too full. I want to finish my next nursing degree but don’t know when I would do it. Maybe if I just quit sleeping I could find the time! LOL I’m so thankful to God for all I have, especially my family and friends. Even though I don’t see any of them as often as I’d like, I do at least see them once in a while. Thank God I am here and not overseas like so many other soldiers. I may be over there one day but for today I am home in the U.S. Thank God. I thank God for our men and women in uniform, many of whom are my friends, who are serving outside the U.S. I thank them for being selfless, courageous, and willing to fight the good fight for all of us. Remember to pray for a soldier today. Love, Saundra

I can remember a day when parents would never let their children miss church for ballgames or any other reason. Schools and coaches would never plan a practice or game on Sunday or Wednesday that interfered with church. Now we have youth miss week after week because of these reasons and parents wonder why I raise concerns. Today our kids don’t know the Bible, couldn’t begin to compete in a Bible drill and are allowed to miss church on a whim. But it’s not their fault - the Bible specifies who is responsible for the spiritual education of children and it’s not the church. It’s the parents. Rarely do families sit down and eat a meal together without distraction - it is time to slow down. Over the years I’ve had other parents and my children accuse me of being too strict, but my kids were always at church. This is how I was raised and it is how I raised my children. They’re not perfect, none of us are, but they know the Bible, how to witness and never wonder what we’re going to be doing on Sundays or Wednesday nights. I wish more parents would take as much time to educate their children spiritually as they spend at the ballpark.

Bro. Jason,
I am one of those people that go all the time. Between work, family, church, Faith, etc. it just keeps us busy. I’m not sure what the answer is to slow down, but you are right. I am going to try to work on that preacher. Thank you for making me rethink things.

I remember when most folks didnt have phones .if you did it was a party line ( you shared it with others). you actually went to friends and relatives houses and just sat down on the porch or out under a tree and enjoyed the day with each other. My how times have changed. Thank God He has’nt.
